Pad Thai Ingredients
Our Pad Thai is made fresh to order using authentic Thai rice noodles imported directly from Thailand, combined with a balanced blend of traditional sauces, farm-fresh vegetables, and aromatic seasoning. Every ingredient is chosen to deliver the genuine flavour and texture of Thai street food — nothing artificial, no MSG.
Noodles
Thai rice noodles — imported directly from Thailand by Sireeya. Flat, medium-width, and naturally gluten-free. Using authentic imported noodles makes a real difference to the texture and flavour — it’s what gives our Pad Thai that genuine Thai street food quality you simply won’t find with standard supermarket noodles.
Sauce & Seasoning
Light soy sauce — adds savoury depth and the signature umami base of Pad Thai.
Oyster sauce — adds richness and a subtle sweetness. Traditional to the dish.
Fish sauce — the backbone of authentic Pad Thai. Salty, complex, and deeply savoury. Can be swapped for salt on request.
Sriracha chilli sauce — adds gentle heat and a warm red colour to the dish.
Sugar — balances the savoury and sour notes. Essential for authentic Pad Thai flavour.
Salt & seasoning powder — used to finish and balance the dish to order.
Aromatics & Protein Base
Fresh garlic — minced and stir-fried first. Forms the aromatic base of every batch.
Egg — folded in during cooking to create the silky, golden texture Pad Thai is known for.
Firm tofu — included in every Pad Thai — unlike in the UK where tofu is seen as a vegetarian swap, in Thailand tofu is a core ingredient in every single Pad Thai regardless of which protein you choose. It adds texture, absorbs the sauce beautifully, and is essential to the authentic recipe.
Vegetables & Garnish
Beansprouts — added fresh at the end for crunch and lightness. A classic Pad Thai component.
Spring onion — sliced and scattered over the finished dish for freshness and colour.
Lime wedge — served on the side. A squeeze over the top lifts the entire dish.
Optional garnishes — to balance the flavour
Select at when ordering. All can be included or excluded to your preference.
Crushed peanuts — roasted and lightly salted. Adds crunch. Select “No Peanuts” to exclude.
Dried chilli flakes — adds heat. Omit if you prefer mild.
Extra sugar — softens the tang if preferred.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the Pad Thai noodles come from? ▼
Our rice noodles are sourced directly from Thailand by Sireeya herself. Using authentic imported noodles makes a real difference to the texture and flavour — it’s what gives our Pad Thai that genuine Thai street food quality you simply won’t find with standard supermarket noodles.
Are the noodles gluten-free? ▼
Yes — our Thai rice noodles are naturally gluten-free. However, the soy sauce and oyster sauce used in the dish do contain gluten. If you require a fully gluten-free version, please contact us before ordering so we can advise.
Why does every Pad Thai contain tofu? ▼
In Thailand, tofu is not a vegetarian substitute — it is a core ingredient in every authentic Pad Thai, regardless of which protein you choose. It adds texture, soaks up the sauce beautifully, and is fundamental to the dish as it is made across Thailand. We include firm tofu in every order to stay true to the authentic recipe. Please note that tofu contains soybean, which is one of the 14 major UK allergens.
Is Pad Thai spicy? ▼
Pad Thai is a naturally mild dish — it is not spicy on its own. Dried chilli flakes are available as an optional garnish so you can add heat to your own taste. If you’d like it prepared spicier or with no chilli at all, just let us know in the special requirements field when ordering.
Is Pad Thai always made with egg? ▼
Yes — egg is a standard ingredient in traditional Pad Thai and is folded in during cooking to create that silky, golden texture. If you have an egg allergy, please let us know before ordering.
Can I remove the fish sauce? ▼
Yes. We can substitute fish sauce with salt on request. Simply add a note in the special requirements box at checkout, or contact us before ordering and Sireeya will adjust the dish for you.
Is this dish suitable for vegetarians or vegans? ▼
The tofu and vegetable protein option can be made closer to vegetarian, but the standard dish contains egg, oyster sauce (shellfish), and fish sauce. For a fully vegan version, please note in special requirements that you’d like fish sauce replaced with salt and oyster sauce replaced with mushroom sauce. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
What protein options are available and what do they cost? ▼
You can choose from tofu & vegetables (included in the base price of £7.95), chicken or pork (£1.00 extra), or prawns (£2.50 extra). Remember that firm tofu is also included in every Pad Thai as part of the authentic recipe, regardless of which protein you select.
Does Pad Thai contain peanuts? ▼
Crushed peanuts are an optional garnish — not a standard ingredient. You can select “No Peanuts” at checkout if you have an allergy or simply prefer to leave them out. If you have a peanut allergy, please also let us know in the special requirements box so we can take extra care during preparation.
